A dietary supplement is a food intended to supplement the normal diet, being a concentrated source of vitamins or minerals or other substances having a nutritional or other physiological effect, single or combined, placed on the market in a form enabling dosage.
A dietary supplement may be introduced in the form of: capsules, tablets, dragees and other similar forms, powder sachets, liquid ampoules, dropper bottles and other similar forms of liquids and powders intended to be consumed in small, measured unit quantities, excluding products with properties of the medicinal product within the meaning of the provisions of pharmaceutical law (Article 3(3)(39) of the Act of 25 August 2006 on food and nutrition safety).
